Meet the person behind the practice
Gamuchirai Chinamasa, affectionately known as “Shumbakadzi” (meaning “Lioness”), is a Registered Family Therapist and Mental Health Advocate whose work bridges the deeply personal and the broadly educational.
With a foundation in Psychology from Rhodes University and specialised training in Systemic Family Counselling and Mental Health First Aid, she brings a warm, evidence-based approach to every session. Her practice is rooted in the belief that healing happens in relationship — with ourselves, our families, and our communities.
Beyond the therapy room, Gamuchirai is a published author, columnist, and public speaker who uses her platform to destigmatise mental health conversations across Zimbabwe and beyond. Her mission is simple yet profound: to educate, inspire, and empower.
